Another very positive term has just flown by and the examination season has already started! Please encourage your child to complete all coursework and attend all external examinations. If in doubt, contact the school.
On another note, the separating of the North and South sites is still going ahead. To date there have been no requests for pupils on the South site to move school, which is a testament to the success of the pupils and school. It is anticipated that staff will largely opt to remain with the children.
Please can I remind parents and pupils that mobile phones (and other electrical equipment) are not allowed in school. There have been a few cases of mobile phones going ‘missing’ this half term. The school has no insurance to cover these incidents.
May I take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Easter and hope that you have a pleasant break.
Thank you for your continued support.

Disability Swimming Club – North Site
The school have been advised that there is a Disability Swimming Club to be run at Kirkby Sports Centre, Cherryfield Drive, Kirkby on a Thursday evening between
5.30-7.00pm. The club are involved in galas, as well as training. If you are interested in your child attending then please contact
Lesley – 07546 571754
Jo - 07546 584774
Email - k.l.s@live.co.uk
The club is mainly run by the parents of children who take part. Parents are allowed to be at the poolside during the training.
I must stress that this club has nothing to do with the school but we are merely providing some parents with community based activities which may benefit your child and your families.
FIZZY DRINKS – North Site
Can I remind parents that fizzy drinks, for example, cola and energy drinks should NOT be brought into school.
The energy drinks contain a lot of sugar and can lead to pupils becoming overweight if drunk regularly without suitable exercise.

Red Nose Day – 13 March – North Site
Well
folks, pat yourselves on the back!! Comic Relief week was a great success, with
all the students engaged in fun, mathematical, fund raising activities.
We have raised for Comic Relief £595.84, as well as making students aware of the plight of others who are much worse off than ourselves. For that we thank you.

Red Nose Day -Friday 13 – South Site
Many
activities went on throughout the day, Face painting, Cake making, Penalty
shootout and many more activities. There was a lot of red in and around the
school and many children and some staff were in fancy dress.
The children raised £177 all of which goes to a most worthy cause.

Bank View High North students took part in a National Cookathon on
17 March 2009. Pupils in the school cooked healthy cottage pie all day. The Lets Get Cooking club members shared their skills with other pupils in the school. Every child that made a cottage pie took a recipe home.
Our Cookathon was a great success, we had a photographer taking photographs for the local press and even had Radio Merseyside in to interview some of the club members. The interview was aired on the drive time show. Well done to all those involved.
