Autumn Half term Newsletter
Dear Parents/Carers
Although attendance at Bank View is slowly improving, it can be much better. In order to ensure that your child has the maximum learning opportunity and to improve our whole school attendance, would you please avoid taking holidays/breaks/trips during school term time. This may be recorded as unauthorised absence.
If it is absolutely necessary to take your child on holiday then could you please complete an Absence Form, available from the school office for authorisation by the Headteacher.
I would also ask parents/carers to avoid making any appointments for your child in school time, whenever possible.
Pupils from both sites will take part in completing pupil questionnaires with form tutors related to the Building Schools for the Future consultation. This has been devised by the Pupil Advocacy Team and is aimed at providing easy to understand information for pupils and opportunity for questions and concerns to be addressed.
Many thanks for your support.
I R WRIGHT

We
would like to remind all parents of the importance of providing the school with
any change of address or phone numbers,
please let the school office know immediately. There have been a number of incidents when it has not been possible to contact a parent when their child has been unwell, due to us not having up to date phone numbers.

Match Day Report – 9.10.08 KO 10.30 at Deep Dale, Preston
Year 9 had a wonderful day out at the National Football Museum, Preston. We were met by Dave who took us to the ‘changing’ rooms. Here students were dressed – football kits from the late 1800s through to modern day kits. Some outfits were very comical; a good laugh was had by all. Later Ilias took us on a tour of Preston North Ends football ground, very interesting and informative. After lunch it was off to the ‘match’. Everyone gathered for a penalty shoot out competition. George scored the most accuracy points for the penalties whilst Danny powered penalties in at 40 mph. Jack and Michael showed precision in their penalties too.
The girls, Leah, Rebecca and Jessica joined in all the activities and gave the lads a run for their money.
All in all a great day out.
Year 9 parents, you should be proud of your children, they were excellent.
