ATTENDANCE

To maintain our good attendance we would appreciate it if parents/guardians could:-

• Inform school by phone before 10.30am why their child is absent then send letter on their child’s return with reason for the absence.

• Inform school of any planned absence i.e. hospital appointments, dental etc.

• Restrict term time holidays, if holiday is unavoidable, permission must be sought (forms available from school office).

• Parents will be phoned on the first day (if school not contacted by parent/guardian) of absence as part of our monitoring system – please make sure we have the correct contact numbers.

The Education Welfare Officer is fully involved with the school in pursuing poor or non-attendance, and has the authority, in agreement with the school, to initiate legal proceedings including fines under Section 444 of the 1996 Education Act.
