Building Schools for the Future Consultation
Bank View and Redbridge High Schools
Following the consultation event held in March and subsequent update in April,
about the outline planning proposal for the relocation of the above schools onto
the Fazakerley High School site, we are
advising
of the latest
position.
You may be aware that the last proposal was just to locate the Bank View High School on the Fazakerley High School playing field, however, due to issues surrounding the costs and legal complexities involved in placing a BSF school onto the existing Fazakerley High School PFI site it has been deemed that this would not represent best value for money. The latest proposal for the above two schools are as follows:
The Redbridge High School would be relocated to new buildings on the current site of the Archbishop Beck School on Cedar Road.
The Bank View High School would be re-built on its current site, and would use the Redbridge site as a temporary venue whilst the work is undertaken.
The Redbridge site would then be declared surplus to council requirements and made available for disposal.
Full detailed planning permission will still be required (for both the Redbridge and Bank View High School proposals) and local residents will again be consulted on this prior to any application being submitted; but this will not take place until around Autumn 2011.
The sketch map gives an indication of how the new Bank View School would be sited.
